Pharmacokinetics and biological analysis of ophthalmic drugs

Eyes are the most sensitive organs of human beings. Generally, their sophisticated functional structure prevents foreign bodies from intruding or removing foreign bodies. The importance of eyes is self-evident, but eye diseases are too numerous to mention. There are currently more than 500 eye diseases known, such as refractive errors (myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism), dry eye, cataracts, glaucoma (primary, secondary, congenital), macular degeneration, etc. The latter three are recognized as the three major blind eye diseases by the World Health Organization (WHO). Eye diseases cover a wide range of people: from young people who are susceptible to dry eye and refractive errors to the elderly who are susceptible to glaucoma and cataracts. With the changes in the way people use eyes, and the further increase of aging, The incidence of ophthalmological diseases in middle-aged and elderly people is increasing continuously. Eye diseases not only seriously disrupt people’s lives, but al...

Huizhou Jizhong Biological Technology's Biological New Drug Obtained FDA Clinical Approval!

Recently, Huizhou Jizhong Biological Technology’s innovative drug local anesthetic injection - a new long-acting postoperative analgesic successfully obtained FDA (US Food and Drug Administration) new drug clinical trial approval! The new long-acting postoperative analgesic was completed by Shanghai Medicilon in its full set of  preclinical safety evaluation research ,  preclinical pharmacology ,  pharmacokinetics  and other projects. Anesthetics include general anesthetics, local anesthetics, narcotic analgesics, and muscle relaxants. Among them, local anesthetics are a class of drugs that are applied locally around nerve endings or nerve trunks, which can temporarily, completely and reversibly block the generation and conduction of nerve impulses, and temporarily disappear local pain sensation under conscious conditions. . Because local anesthetics are easy to use and have no damaging effects on various tissues, they have been widely recognized by clinicians. Curre...

Analysis of the role of pharmacokinetic parameters in candidate compound identification

A large number of candidate compounds is the basis for drug development, and compound activity screening and testing are critical to obtaining candidate compounds with clinical safety data. In screening candidate compounds, pharmacokinetic parameters are another important screening metric to examine potential compounds in addition to their efficacy, which can be used to better control drug development time and reduce drug development costs by excluding candidates with suboptimal pharmacokinetic parameters early in drug development. Modern advances in science and technology have greatly accelerated the rate of drug candidate discovery, with thousands of new compounds requiring screening each year. When a candidate compound enters the clinical phase, it is usually studied in healthy volunteers to obtain the kinetic parameters of the drug in humans. A large number of candidate compounds are often eliminated for pharmacokinetic reasons. Important pharmacokinetic parame...

What is Toxicokinetics?

Toxicokinetics   is essentially the study of “how a substance gets into the body and what happens to it in the body”.   Four processes are involved in toxicokinetics. Four processes in toxicokinetics The study of the kinetics (movement) of chemicals was originally conducted with pharmaceuticals and thus the term pharmacokinetics became commonly used. In addition,  toxicology studies  were initially conducted with drugs. However, the science of toxicology has evolved to include environmental and occupational chemicals as well as drugs. Toxicokinetics is thus the appropriate term for the study of the kinetics of all toxic substances. Frequently the terms  toxicokinetics ,  pharmacokinetics , or disposition may be found in the literature to have the same meaning. Disposition is often used in place of toxicokinetics to describe the time-course of movement of chemicals through the body (that is, how does the body dispose of a xenobiotic?). The disposition...

ADME Pharmacokinetics Studies

Absorption, Distribution, Metabolism and Excretion • Absorption ‐ Route of Drug Delivery – Where absorbed? • Distribution ‐ Where does the drug go, where does it need to go and what are the implications? • Metabolism Metabolism ‐ This will occur and could impact several several variables variables. – Could be used to your advantage ‐ Prodrugs. • Excretion – How is the drug eliminated? • Pharmacokinetics is concerned with the variation in drug concentration with time as a result of absorption, metabolism, distribution and excretion – Drug dose, route of administration, administration, rate and extent of absorption, absorption, distribution distribution rate (particularly to site of action) and rate of elimination. – Pharmacokinetics may be simply defined as what the body does to the drug. – Pharmacodynamics defined as what the drug does to the body. in vivo ADME Services We conduct a range of studies in rats and mice (other species are possible), including: • Pharma...
